on Jan 14, 2021, Updated Jul 22, 2022 It seems like everyone is making hot cocoa bombs these days so I thought, it’s still chilly in February. How about a Valentine’s Day version? If you ask me, hot chocolate is good just about any way you make it, but there is something so fun about watching these little balls of yumminess melt into warm milk. Hot Chocolate bombs would make a great gift to go along with a teacher valentine or to enjoy at home! Kids will love helping assemble the hot cocoa and marshmallows, get the melted candy just right, and the best part, sprinkles on top! I probably wouldn’t eat them together for risk of sugar shock, but if you love these you definitely need to try our marshmallow cereal clusters next!

Hot Chocolate Bombs Supply List

There are a few things you will need to have on hand if you don’t already. Below, I’ve listed a shopping list including a couple optional items with links to buy. Add these as a little gift with one of our free printable valentines! Ingredients/Supplies you will need:

1½ Cups pink candy melts ½ Cup white candy melts (or white chocolate chips for the drizzle) ½ Cup chocolate chips Hot Chocolate Mix (approximately 1 tablespoon per bomb Ghirardelli is our fave) Dehydrated Marshmallows (or regular mini marshmallows) Various Valentine’s Day Sprinkles Half-sphere silicone candy mold Candy melt warmer (optional – can also use microwave or double-boiler)

For more pink fun with the taste of strawberries, whip up some strawberries and cream cocoa bombs too! They would go great with these no bake brownie bites.

How to Make Hot Cocoa Bombs

Now to the fun part! It does take a little bit of time to create these treats, but it will be well worth it! Get the family involved and make an afternoon of it! Want even more hot cocoa? Try making these green hot cocoa bombs for Dr. Seuss Day or St. Patty’s Day and turn your milk green! Or you could even make a few ahead of time to enjoy later on. If you do that, I would store them in the fridge. If you don’t have time to make these just yet, be sure to check out my quick and easy marshmallow stirring spoons! Valentine’s Day is a time to remember the good times and share the love with a significant other, friend, or family. Like this post? Share it with friends!
