on Mar 02, 2020, Updated Feb 09, 2024 If you love soup as much as we do, then you are in for a treat with this old fashioned corn chowder recipe! My Grammy used to make it, then my mom, and now I’m carrying on this delicious tradition.  Make this corn chowder soup as a side or appetizer or serve with savory muffins and salad for a meal. It’s so good! Using simple ingredients you may already have on hand, you can whip this up in a snap. It makes a great weeknight meal too since you can make it in about 30 minutes.  Milk, butter, potatoes onions, and corn. I mean does it get much better?  We like to top it with bacon but you cold easily add fish or chicken if you want some extra protein.

Grammy’s Corn Chowder Soup

In 1989, my family had a reunion and everyone contributed to a cookbook full of tasty meals, desserts and breads.  I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorites so I’m starting with our classic corn chowder! I cherish this little book and I’m so glad I have it! I love trying new recipes, but there is definitely something to be said for the classics.

There’s nothing better than a bowl full of chowder! And if you’re from up north like my Grammy, you know it’s pronounced “chowdah”.
